Emotional Quotient Inventory: Youth Version (BarOn EQ-i:YV)
                                    Reuven Bar-On, Ph.D. & James D.A. Parker, Ph.D.

A self-report emotional intelligence test for children and adolescents

                                    Key Areas Measured:

                                    • Intrapersonal
                                    • Interpersonal
                                    • Stress Management
                                    • Adaptability
                                    • General Mood
                                    • Positive Impression
                                    • Inconsistency Index

Based on the BarOn model of emotional intelligence, the EQ-i:YV™ measures the level of emotional and social functioning in children and adolescents. It can be used by psychologists, school counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists to identify a child’s strong and weak areas and help develop the skills needed for academic, personal, and social success.

The short version, EQ-i:YV (S)™ , is ideal for screening large groups and in situations when time is limited. This short version has the same scales as the original EQ-i:YV inventory, with the exception of the General Mood scale and the Inconsistency Index.

The normative sample consisted of a large number of children and teenagers from several different elementary, middle, and high schools across the United States and Canada. Norms are presented separately for males and females in four age intervals. Raw scores are plotted on Profile Sheets for conversion to standard scores.

Profile Reports graphically and numerically summarize the results for each administration and provide a list of responses.
